2.3 View Documents (Reader Features)

The Pop Document Reader is designed to provide users with a smooth, professional, and efficient reading experience. Whether it's a PDF, Office document, e‑book, or plain text, you can browse, search, extract snippets, annotate, and organize content seamlessly within Pop.
This chapter introduces the core functions and usage tips of the document reader.

📑 1. Outline View

If the document includes its own table of contents (such as a PDF outline or heading structure), Pop will automatically parse it and display it on the left as an Outline View:

  • Quickly jump to sections using the hierarchical structure
  • Click to locate the corresponding position in the document
  • Extremely efficient for PDF books, technical documents, and reports
  • Significantly improves navigation for long documents

🖼 2. Thumbnail View

When reading PDFs, you can enable Thumbnail Mode to preview each page:

  • Easily locate charts, diagrams, and visual content
  • Quickly flip between pages
  • Ideal for browsing multi‑page documents such as slide decks, portfolios, and image collections

You can freely switch between "Outline / Thumbnails" in the left panel.

🔖 3. Bookmarks

Bookmarks allow you to mark positions you want to return to later. They are useful for:

  • Key chapters in technical books
  • Important sections of legal or regulatory documents
  • Important slides or pages in PPT/PDF
  • Study materials for stage‑based review

Features:

  • Add multiple bookmarks
  • Automatically record the page and position
  • Display bookmarks in a dedicated left‑side panel
  • Click to jump instantly

✏️ 4. Highlighting & Notes

Pop supports highlighting and annotating PDF content for learning, reviewing, and organizing knowledge.

You can perform:

  • Text highlighting (multiple colors supported)
  • Add text notes
  • View all highlights in a list
  • Filter highlights by color

Highlight content integrates with notes, snippet extraction, and other knowledge workflows.

📌 5. Snippets (Excerpt Extraction)

Pop allows you to extract key snippets from PDF documents for knowledge building and AI usage.

You can:

  • Select any text → click “Extract Snippet”
  • Automatically generate a snippet containing original text, page number, and timestamp
  • Use snippets for:
    • Note citations
    • AI analysis
    • Mind‑map node generation
    • Workflow input passing
  • View all snippets together in the right‑side snippet panel

Snippet extraction is one of the core integrations between Pop’s Document Center and AI.

🔍 6. Full‑Text Search

The reader includes full‑text search for quickly locating content:

  • Keyword search
  • Highlight all matching results
  • Navigate previous/next hit
  • Especially useful for technical docs, legal texts, specs, and product documentation
