8.8 About Pop

The “About Pop” page is used to display core information about the application, including the version number, update status, privacy policy, and other details.
It is an important entry point for users to understand Pop’s product background, check the current version, view dependency components, and access legal information.

2. Core Dependency Components

Pop is built from a set of frontend, backend, and AI‑related modules.
The “About” page displays key dependency information, including:

  • Electron / Tauri (client framework)
  • React (UI framework)
  • Django / FastAPI (backend API)
  • OpenAI / DeepSeek / other AI SDKs
  • File parsing libraries (PDF, DOCX, image processing, etc.)
  • Workflow engine and node plugin versions

This information helps developers troubleshoot issues and allows users to understand Pop’s underlying architecture.

3. Privacy Policy

Pop follows strict privacy and security practices. The “Privacy Policy” section clearly explains how Pop handles your data.

📌 Core Principles:

  • Sync only applies to content you explicitly upload: Only documents, notes, chat history, or resources you intentionally upload to Pop Cloud will be synchronized. Files you open locally but do not upload will not be synced.
  • Local files stay strictly local: All locally opened documents, temporary processing files, and AI‑accessed local content are processed only on your device and will not be automatically uploaded.
  • Cloud sync is fully controlled by the user: Content is synced only when you upload documents or enable cloud workspace features.
  • User control: You may delete cloud data, pause syncing, clear local cache, or sign out at any time.
  • Minimal data usage: The server stores only the data required for authentication and sync, plus the content you purposely upload.
  • Transparency: All sync behavior is clearly visible; Pop will never upload local files without your knowledge.

The privacy policy applies to:

  • Pop desktop client
  • Pop official website (if linked with your account)
  • Pop workflow templates and resource marketplace (future expansion)

4. Terms of Service

This includes:

  • User behavior guidelines
  • Content responsibility
  • Restrictions on commercial use
  • Prohibited actions (misusing AI, launching attacks, generating illegal content, etc.)
  • Service availability statement

These terms ensure a secure, lawful, and fair usage environment.
