8.4 Chat Settings
Chat settings manage how the Pop AI chat interface behaves, including window count, display layout, history management, Markdown rendering, and enhanced tools (bookmarks, citation snippets, extraction, etc).
These settings directly influence the Pop AI experience and are among the most frequently visited configuration pages.
1. Windows & Layout (Chat Layout)
Pop supports multi‑window chat. You can open several independent chat windows to compare outputs from different models or tasks.
Configurable Options

| Window layout | Auto layout, split left/right, split top/bottom, etc. |

2. Chat History (History Settings)
Chat history determines how Pop saves past conversation content.

3. Message Rendering
You can adjust how messages are displayed to improve readability or meet professional needs.

- Enabling Markdown + code highlighting greatly improves technical chats
- For large files, use the Knowledge Base instead of dragging into chat
- To compare the same question across models, use multiple windows side by side
